We have a number of quartets and small groups within Forth Valley Chorus.  This page aims to introduce them & let you know how to get in touch with them...

 Mac4 Minimize

Mac4 started out in 2004 and since then the quartet has performed at many venues, both large and small, from the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, to a private party, to the Birmingham Symphony Hall, to a sheltered housing complex. It really doesn't matter, they just love to sing! In 2007, Mac4 were delighted to win the Silver medal at the Regional Sweet Adelines International competition and were thrilled to have achieved so much in 3 years. The quartet is made up of MacTenor Maureen Bruce, MacLead Carol Butters, MacBaritone Elaine Hamilton and MacBass Elspeth Muir. Apart from singing together the 'Macs' enjoy laughing, drinking and eating chocolate, perhaps not all at the same time! Their natural blend and vibrant sound has won over many audiences and they enjoy nothing better than singing to the best of their abilities each and every time they are together.

 The Swingettes Minimize

THE SWINGETTES line-up consists of Paula (lead), Linda M (bass), Mary (baritone) and Linda C (tenor).  Dressed to thrill in sequins and diamante, the Swingettes love to harmonise anything and everything; the swinging rhythms of the Andrews Sisters, 50’s doo-wop, 60’s Motown, pop classics including Abba, Westlife and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

The Swingettes have performed at corporate events, private parties, and weddings and also in cabaret at the Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh and the Spiegel Tent during the Edinburgh Festival.  In their early days, the quartet won the Sweet AdelinesUK Barbershop Championships, allowing them to compete internationally in New Orleans singing to 10,000 in the Louisiana Superdome.  They have also performed in theatres around the country with popular Edinburgh swing singer Craig McMurdo and his band ‘That Swing Thang’ and with jazz singer Edith Budge.

 Tonic Minimize
We are 7 friendly ladies who, as our name Tonic suggests, are very good mixers. Our line up consists of Anne and Susan our basses with the deep voices, Marjory and Angela our Baritones who sing all the difficult notes, Linda and Margaret our Leads who sing the melody, and Sheila our lovely tenor who sings all the very high notes.
 
Tonic has sung at a variety of locations and if you have a venue, we have a song!
